This notice is to provide the community with information of the upcoming ETFO (Teachers) Work-to-Rule Strike Action effective Tuesday, November 26, 2019. This central action was communicated and confirmed by ETFO this date.
Work-To-Rule means that the teachers (ETFO members) will do no more than the minimum required by the rules of their contract and precisely follow all safety or other regulations. The action targets Ministry and school board administrative tasks and does not impact students, their learning or their safety.
Please know that the Ministik School Teachers ( ETFO members) will:
- CONTINUE to focus on and support the learning needs of students;
- CONTINUE to maintain contact with parents regarding students; and
- CONTINUE to provide scheduled supervisory duties.
It is anticipated that this strike action will continue until the labour dispute is satisfactorily resolved. We will continue to provide updates as we receive new information.
