CARFENTANIL IS 100 TIMES MORE POTENT THAN FENTANYL AND IS VERY DANGEROUS.

In November 2017, illegal drugs that contained Carfentanil were seized in one of the coastal Mushkegowuk communities. The seized drugs had the appearance of Percosets and were sent to a lab for analysis. The lab tests found and confirmed that the seized drugs contained Carfentanil. The actual content was caffeine and Carfentanil. It is very common for drug dealers to “lace” other drugs and pills with this drug and in this case, they were disguised as “percs”.
Carfentanil is 100 times more potent than Fentanyl and is very dangerous.
Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid drug approximately 10,000 times more potent than Morphine and 100 times more potent than Fentanyl. The presence of Carfentanil in illicit drug markets is cause for concern, as the relative strength of this drug could lead to an increase in overdoses and overdose-related deaths, even among opioid-tolerant users. The presence of Carfentanil poses a significant threat to first responders and law enforcement personnel who may come in contact with this substance.
