The Moose Factory Island District School Area Board believes it is valuable and timely to share a brief note to update our parents and guardians on the status of the provincial labour negotiations, with respect to our elementary teachers.
As part of bargaining process, the Elementary Teachers) Federation of Ontario (ETFO) has advised the board that they will be in a legal job action position as of Monday, May Il, 2015.
It is important for you to know that:
- Ministik School will be OPEN as usual
However, planned teacher job actions are expected to include: not performing duties related to the EQAO test, and not participating in certain professional development activities.
The board continues to have confidence in the professionalism of our teachers throughout this negotiation process, and values our teachers’ work with students. We remain hopeful that an agreement can be reached soon.
